KITTIE | THE DOME, LONDON | 15 JUNE

NEW!

It’s been more than a decade since Canadian bashers Kittie last headlined a stage on UK soil - and tonight at The Dome in Tufnell Park, the wait ended.

The atmosphere inside the venue was electric with anticipation, a heady mix of nostalgia and adrenaline coursing through the crowd. For many, this is more than just a gig - it’s a long-overdue homecoming of sorts. Formed in the late ‘90s and often cited as trailblazers in the world of nu-metal, metal and heavy music, Kittie’s fusion of groove-laden riffs, raw aggression, and unapologetic energy carved them a unique place in metal history. Now, after years away from the spotlight, they’ve returned, tighter, heavier, and more fearless than ever.

Opening up with the high energy ‘Fire’, with crushing riffs and punchy dreaming, Kittie arrived on stage with a relentless opener that hit hard and set the tone for the rest of the evening. ‘I’ve Failed You’’ and Cut Throat’ followed with more headbanging heaviness. The energy in the room was already at its peak, the band igniting a deafening response from the crowd and sparking an immediate mosh pit from the very beginning - and we were only getting started.

Fans spanning generations filled the room - diehards who’ve followed since 2000’s Spit, and a newer wave drawn by the band’s recent resurgence and enduring influence. “A couple of you weren’t even born the last time we were here, it was 15 years ago I believe” joked Lander, acknowledging the well diverse crowd. There’s a collective sense that what’s unfolding isn’t just a show, but a moment.

PENDULUM | DREAMLAND, MARGATE | 31 MAY

NEW!

Pendulum have a mystic that is quite hard to define. They seen timeless, illusive and monumental whilst also utterly modern, tangible, and at Dreamland in Margate, within arm's reach.

By 2025 standards, Pendulum's genre-melding mix of Heavy Metal and Drum & Bass could seem somewhat… pedestrian. The modern alternative music scene is after all, flooded with innovative artists, fusing every conceivable combination of styles, but twenty years ago, in 2005 when Pendulum released ‘Hold Your Colour’, they were the pioneers of amalgamating subcultures into a beefy, attention-grabbing soup of sound.

Luckily for fans, Pendulum are no throwback band. Releasing fast paced ‘Save The Cat’, a fun and on brand track - complete with a sprinkling of meows - only a few days prior, and with new album, Inertia due for release at the end of August, big moves are being made.

We are treated to the live debut of the aforementioned track early on in the set to feverish energy throughout Dreamland. Drinks are thrown and pits are moshed as the Aussie powerhouse thumped through their set.

ARCHERS - TEMPORARY HIGH | 13 JUNE

NEW!

Released on 13 June 2025 via SBG Records, Temporary High by modern metalcore band Archers - Nathanael Pulley (vocals), Ben Koehler (guitars), Oscar Porter (bass), Grayson Mesarosh (drums) - doesn’t waste time. It hits hard, leans into atmosphere, and pulls zero punches. Clocking in at just under 17 minutes, the five-track collection shows a significant evolution from their earlier post-hardcore roots into a more refined, emotionally charged metalcore sound.

The first track ‘Better Off’ serves as a blistering, relentless opener packed with aggressive vocals, guitar riffs and punchy drumming. It is the heaviest track of this new EP and sets an urgent tone, showcasing the band’s knack for delivering cathartic metalcore energy. The delivery of guttural growls and clean vocals from vocalist Nathanael Pulley is impressive and works effortlessly.

‘Safe Now’ invites the listener to slow down, offering a beautiful, ethereal moment that highlights the band’s most introspective and vulnerable side.. Pulley’s range throughout this EP - from anguished screams to vulnerable cleans - is powerful and this track is a testament to Archers’ ability to put the guitar riffs aside and make emotionally raw music, also pushing beyond metalcore’s boundaries. Polished yet intense guitar lines, tight rhythm section, and dynamic tempo shifts join Pulley on the second half of the song. Lyrically powerful lines like ‘‘Safe and sound, six feet down, no one can hurt you when you’re underground’’ also hit hard.

MOTHER MOTHER - NOSTALGIA | 6 JUNE

Mother Mother's tenth studio album, Nostalgia, released on 6 June 2025, marks a significant evolution in the band's sound and thematic exploration. Known for their quirky alt-rock style, the Canadian quintet - Ryan Guldemond (vocals, guitar), Molly Guldemond (vocals, keyboards), Ali Siadat (drums), Jasmin Parkin (vocals, keyboards), Mike Young (bass) - delves into profound themes of alienation, existentialism, self-love and self-hate, gender roles, and spirituality through the vibrant imagery of otherworldly landscapes and mythical creatures. Celebrating their 20th anniversary this year, the outfit delivers a new record that promises to be both a reflection on their journey and a bold step forward.

The album opens with ‘Love to Death’ a track that sets the tone, delving into the complexities of love, portraying it as both illuminating and consuming. Frontman Ryan Guldemond's lyrics, such as "Look at love, it will burn your eyes, kept shut and you feel deprived" encapsulate this duality, suggesting that love can be both blinding and enlightening.

The second track ‘Make Believe’, also serving as first single from the record, provides a more upbeat rhythm and embodies a psychedelic alt-rock vibe, also inviting listeners to embrace a whimsical perspective over rigid reality.
